24 Weeks... 16 more to go!!!

Another week has flown by! My Dinosaur paintings turned out rather well! I think they add a lot to the nursery! Here are a few pictures of the final product...

As for the changing station, Scott is coming to a close! I dont have any recent pictures, but I will be sure to take some and post them soon! It looks FABULOUS! I can't wait for him to get it painted so we can move it in the house and start filling it up with baby things!

So for the little man, he is getting so big! We go to our next doctor appointment on Tuesday to check on him, but he is definitely getting around. I can feel him quite often now. Scott still can't feel him just yet, and I know he is totally looking forward to the day that he can feel baby W squirm. That time is just around the corner, I know!

Its crazy to think that we only have three full months until this little guy will make his debut. This time has just flown by, and it has been such a great experience so far!

Baby this week:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

23 Weeks...

So lets see here... we have been busy this week! I have been thinking nothing but nursery decorating!!! I completed the curtains over the weekend, they look GREAT... if I don't say so myself! We bought a Glider and assembled it...that was funny! Those things sure don't come with very good instructions! Anyway, two brains were sure better than one for that task...

Scott has not had a whole lot of time to work on the changing table, but he was able to get the door put on and some of the sides cut out for the shelves... here is a recent picture... it looks so good! I am going to try to conquer painting this weekend. I bought three canvas' and I am planning on painting dinosaurs on them...I have them sketched out already, but I am a little worried about the paint part! I figure it doesn't hurt to try... so we shall see.

This little boy is getting big!! I am starting to feel more and more pregnant everyday!

Baby at 23 weeks

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.

As promised, here is a picture of the baby changing system that Scott is building. It is missing a door, but that will be put on soon, but for now you can see the progress... Its looking FABULOUS!!!!

22 Weeks!

Well as you can see, I have changed the background of the blog. I felt the other was a little too girly for this baby boy!

So I am now 22 whopping weeks. I really cannot believe how fast time is going by. I still feel fabulous and no problems yet! I am still thanking God everyday! We are so blessed in many ways. I have had such an easy pregnancy, and great doctor's visits, so I know I must give thanks to him, I pray that everything keeps going on the same track.

As for the baby room, things are progressing quite smoothly! Scotty and I have had the pleasure of spending the last few weekends at home, so we have had a lot of time to think about this cute little baby. I found the fabrics that we will decorate his room in! I should get some of it in tonight. I am planning on making the curtains myself. I'll let you all know how that goes. I might have to ask for my mom's supervision though. Although, I am not sure I will be able to wait; I already feel like I want to get started on this project tonight!

My wonderful husband has been working non stop on the changing table. I have a few pictures with me on my phone, but they are not updated ones. He has done so much in the last few days! He has taken the picture that I gave to him and he is RUNNING with it. I am very excited about that project and I have already found another project for him to start on when he finishes the changing table/storage unit.

This weekend we are celebrating our ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!! Wow- how the time has flown by! We have had one busy year, but it has definitely been the best year! I love my Scotty and I could not have asked for a better man! He's going to make the best daddy!

How your baby's growing at 22 weeks:

At 11 inches and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

21 Weeks

Well Candace has successfully made it half way through the pregnancy. She is doing absolutely awesome at this pregnancy thing. She hasn't had any morning sickness and she is just acting like this is no big deal. SOOOO!!! the big news for this week is we found out is was a BOY!!! Thats right, HOPEFULLY little Scotty Junior (btw that's not the name of him even though I have been lobbing for it) is a small dude for Candace's sake. For those of you who don't know I was a clean 10 pounds 8 ounce baby. For some reason everytime I remind Candace of that she doesn't find it as funny as I do. Candace asked the doctor this week how big our baby was going to be since I was almost 11 pounds, her response was she obviously couldn't give us exact numbers but that her biggest problem was standing next to her and that happened to be me. I am not sure if I should say thank you or take offense to it. We both had a good laugh any way. I guess we will have to wait and see if our little man will be bigger than his dad. I sure hope not. One of my dads saying is you may get bigger but you will never be badder. This is one instance that I hope my dad is wrong.HAHA!

I will admit that this trip to the doctor was probably one of the best experiences I have ever encountered. Reality really sets in when you see the little guy moving around. I just couldn't stop smiling the whole time. I am sure glad that the nurse knew what she was looking at on the ultrasound because the only thing I could make out was the hands, feet and heart. She was showing all the other body parts but I sure couldn't tell what they were. But there is no mistaking it was a boy. I wish they allowed cameras because Candace's reaction was priceless. For those of you who haven't heard Candace went out and purchased a little girl outfit and matching blanket. So needless to say she was almost positive it was going to be a girl. She had to ask the nurse if she was sure it was a boy and the nurse said there was no mistaking it. I know she is so happy for a boy or girl as long as it is healthy. I will have to admit I am super stoked about a little boy, but it was also fun to juggle the idea of daddys little girl. So maybe the next time. The same day we found out it was a boy, we took the little girl stuff back and I now have a camo onezie. I can't wait to take him fishing and hunting just like my dad did with me. I told Candace I am going to have to start looking for a little tool box to go right by mine in the garage.

I do want to send out a big thank you to Kne-Kne for sharing this awesome day with us and getting our little goodie bag of BOY stuff. This will be the 5th grandson for Kne-Kne and number 2 for my mom. I know my mom sure wants a granddaughter but I have no worries that she will know what to do with another boy around her house.

I would also like to say I love you Candace!!! I know you will be an amazing mother and do one hell of a job. But guess what you will now have 2 Scotty's running around the house. I know it just couldn't get any better than that. HAHA!!

PS. We bought the wood tonight for the changing table and construction will begin this weekend. There is now progress on the baby furniture!

ITS A BOY!!!!!!

Well, Its true! It's a little boy... the gender prediction test was correct!

We had a fantastic doctor visit today! Scott and my mom were there for the ultrasound and it all went by way too fast! While we were in the ultrasound scan, the technician was just snapping pictures of the baby left and right... She would move the wand around and knew exactly where to go to get the next picture. She looked at the abdomen, the stomach, the heart, the brain, the head, the eyes, the nose, the mouth... etc... and each time she snapped a picture she would label it by typing on the screen. So we were all just watching closely, and we watched her take some profile pictures and the she moved to another area and she started to draw two arrows...so we still just watched patiently... then she labeled it... and waited for a minute...AND all of us just let out a huge AHHHHHH... it was so funny... I asked her if she was sure it was a boy, and she replied, "oh honey, there is no mistaking that!" Too cute!

We are so happy! Scott could not stop smiling... thoughts of fishing and hunting and tool boxes and boy scouts went dancing through his head! He cant wait to start a boy scout troop! I always knew there was that possibility of a boy, but I was still leaning towards a little girl...so I wasnt too shocked at the news... But after seeing this adorable little one I couldnt ask for anything more! I am so happy for our little boy!

Now I cant wait to meet him. He is so adorable in there. He weighs almost a pound right now! But he has 2 hands with 5 adorable little fingers... he wasnt sucking his thumb just yet... hopefully he wont pick up that habit! After speaking with the doctor she informed us that the baby is looking mighty healthy, so that was the best news yet! We are so blessed and I just cant wait to meet this little guy!!
