14 weeks and 4 days...moving right along!!!

This week has been one busy week for us! We visited Paw-Paw in the hospital several times and in between visits, Scotty would put a few coats of paint on the walls... by the end of the week, the room was complete! We now have nice pretty yellow walls!!! I LOVE IT! The room is already so bright and cheery and just ready to welcome a happy baby!

Something else we did this week was take a gender prediction test...So its one of those at home tests that you take. I wasn't totally banking on it being correct, but I thought I would take it just for fun! I took the test on Saturday morning (you have to take it first thing in the morning for accuracy). The results will turn either Yellow/Orange if you are having a girl or Blue/Green if you are having a boy... The test takes 10 min to complete. I took the test and left it for about 7 min... I went back in to find...the darkest GREEN ever!!!!!!! So, because I think I am having a girl, I decided that MAYBE I should wait a few more minutes... well, the result did not change.... so for now, I just don't know what I am having. I guess this is just a reminder that I will get what God has chosen for me! :) My sister said that it was probably a good idea that I took this test, that way if it is a boy, I won't start crying at the doctors office! haha... maybe she is right! :)

Either way, I am just thankful for this little baby...even more thankful that he/she has not given me morning sickness... maybe this baby will turn out more like his/her daddy...pretty calm...because we all know if this baby is anything like me, we will have our hands full!

I have posted a pic of the gender prediction test....so you can all see for yourself, the DARK GREEN!!!

BABY at 14 weeks:

Now the size of your clenched fist, your baby is more fluid-like in his movements, so he’s no longer doing the jerk every time he repositions his arms and legs. Other developments this week include a roof of his own (inside his mouth, that is) as well as intestinal activity: His/her intestines are producing meconium (which is the waste that will make up his first bowel movement after birth). He/she is also sporting a downy coating of hair (lanugo) that keeps him nice and warm. Not to worry — you won't give birth to a monkey; baby fat will accumulate over the next few months and take over the function of keeping your baby warm and toasty —allowing most of that hair to shed.

13 Weeks...

Your Baby in Week 13 of Pregnancy What's up with your baby? Well, besides being as large as a peach now, that big old noggin of his/hers is now about half the size of her crown-to-rump length (that’s one reason why your little peach looks more like an alien from outer space at this point). By the time you give birth, his/her body will catch up, measuring three-quarters of her total size. What else is going on in there? Tiny bones are beginning to form in his/her arms and legs, the intestines are beginning to move from the umbilical cord to the abdomen, and the vocal cords are well under construction (the first step toward saying, "I love you, Mommy!"). And because he/she can move his/her arms and legs in a jerky fashion, he/she may be able to get his/her thumb into mouth (a habit that may come in handy for self-soothing when he/she’s a newborn).

12 weeks and 5 days!!!

Today we had a fantastic doctor's visit! We heard the baby's heartbeat just beating away... the babys heartbeat was 164, just perfect! I also found out that I haven't gained that much weight... only 5 lbs total! Whew... that was a relief to hear... I feel like I have already gained so much! I think its just because my pants are getting so tight!! Anyway, we are so super duper excited! It was such a positive doctor visit, we are ready to spread the news to everyone!

BABY: Your Baby in Week 12 of Pregnancy By now, your baby weighs a full half-ounce and is about the size of a large plum. Most of his systems are in place, though there's still plenty of maturing to do. For one thing, his/her fetal digestive system is beginning to practice contraction movements necessary for eating, and his/her bone marrow is busy making white blood cells — weapons against germs once he's out of your safe haven. The pituitary gland (at the base of the brain) has started producing the hormones that'll enable him (or her) to make babies of his (or her) own in a couple of decades or so.

11 weeks

Your Baby in Week 11 of Pregnancy Your baby (now about two inches long) has been pretty busy this week, growing hair follicles, fingernails, and ovaries (if she's a girl). He/She has distinct human characteristics by now, with hands and feet in front of her body, with ears nearly in their final shape, open nasal passages on the tip of her tiny nose, a tongue and palate in the mouth, and visible nipples. What else makes him/her look human? Those hands and feet have individual fingers and toes (meaning good-bye to those froglike webbed hands and feet). Hooray!
