20 weeks today- Half way mark!

WOW! 20 Weeks, that means we are 1/2 way there! How exciting!

I can FINALLY feel this sweet baby move! It moves quite regularly. Last Friday Scott and I were on the way to the lakehouse with my mom, and I was telling them that it is just crazy that I can't feel this baby yet....THEN about two hours later, as we were sitting on the couch...I felt it! I wasn't sure at first what exactly that feeling was, but I mentioned that it felt kinda like popcorn in my stomach...very light popping popcorn. :) It is definitely a bubbly feeling. Each day I have felt the baby a little more, and now I feel it a lot. Yesterday I was sitting at my desk talking to another employee at work, and I couldn't even pay attention to our conversation because the baby was full on moving around! That was the strongest feeling I have had yet! Anyway, its an awesome feeling, because it is a constant reminder that the little one is doing alright!

So the big ultrasound is almost here! Next Tuesday, we will HOPEFULLY know the gender of this little one. I am still sticking with a little girl, even though the gender prediction test says its a boy. But I don't think the gender prediction test is all that great. I was reading reviews on the Internet the other day and more than half of the people that bought it said it was wrong. Now we will bank on the Chinese prediction calendar to be right... that one says I'm having a girl. :)

Never the less, I will be so happy with either a boy or a girl, I ultimately just want to know that this baby is healthy and on the right track. From the looks of my baby belly it is definitely growing!

Baby at 20 Weeks:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He/ she's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his/her torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his/her head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he/she's measured from head to toe.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system.

19 Weeks...

10 more days until the next doctor's appointment!!! I cant wait to see this little baby and determine the sex. I am very anxious to move forward with the nursery!

This baby is growing, growing, growing, thats for sure! I woke up yesterday morning and could not fit a thing in my closet! I had to go on my lunch break to buy some new clothes! I literally think the baby grew overnight! When I walked in to work on Wednesday, our office manager immediatly shouted..."WHOA! Where did that come from?" It's true, I think this little one had a growth spurt...even though the scale has been the same all week... I have not gained anything since Sunday... which is fine by me!!!

Not much else has transpired since last week. We have been pretty relaxed, we have just been hanging around the ranch and our house. Kne Kne bought us a new bed for the ranch... it sure makes sleeping even better there! We are so thankful that she did that...she knows how important my sleep is, after all she is my momma...AND she did have to dress me in my bed a time or two while I was little, because I refused to get up! My bed has always been my favorite and most comfortable place in the house!

Your Baby in Week 19 of Pregnancy

Have you ever seen a mango dipped in cheese? Well, that's what your baby looks like this week due to a little growth spurt (he/she's about a half pound in weight and six inches long) and a substance called vernix caseosa. This greasy white stuff covers your baby's skin, protecting it from the surrounding amniotic fluid. (Without it, he/she'd look totally wrinkled as she entered the world.) The vernix sheds as delivery approaches, though some babies still sport a bit of the coating at birth.

Week 18

So let's see... this has been one crazy busy week! We lost our paw-paw :(...he went to be with Jesus! So, we prepared for the funeral and saw many many old and cherished faces! Many of which rubbed my new baby bump! I think it is the first reaction from people when they find out you are pregnant or that your baby is starting to show... they immediately rub your belly! Which is fine with me... I really don't mind it. I know some people think its violating their space, but it is a nice reminder to me that there is a cute little baby growing in my tummy!

Over the weekend I was struck with a terrible stomach virus that spread throughout our home and even on to others (sorry everyone that caught it)... That was so hard to be sick and not able to eat anything... I was so hungry all day and I couldn't eat anything... I was so happy when I could put food in my mouth again... I think that was the baby's doing! And just when I conquered the virus, I was struck with a cold...I am still dealing with it...it is so hard when you cant take any medicine to help with congestion! Hopefully I will be over this soon, I am ready to breathe again!

I am counting down the days... 19 days til the big 20 week ultrasound... can't wait to see this little one again! I cant believe I am almost 1/2 way done...Time is really flying by and I am starting to be extremely thankful for our Temperpedic bed. I love that bed more and more each day and I am sure I will benefit from it everyday to come with this growing belly of mine, I get such a great nights sleep!

Nothing has changed with the Nursery...So, no news there.

Week 18 of Pregnancy

You might start to feel your baby moving around anytime now, which is a great way to take your mind off your bothersome back. At five and a half inches long and five ounces in weight, he/she now may be large enough for you to feel him/her twisting, rolling, kicking, and punching his way around the womb. Plus, he's developing yawning and hiccupping skills (you may feel those soon, too!) and his own unique set of toe and fingerprints.

17 Weeks

From the eyes of the father:

We are now in the seventeenth week of pregnancy. I am feeling about the same I haven't quite got the morning sickness but maybe more of morning nervousness. As each week goes by reality keeps sitting in a little more. After last weeks post regarding the the baby changing station, the status is still the same. Just to let everyone know I have put a lot of thought into the station already. I have all the measurements and I just need to get the wood and start the process. The way I see it I still have a few months for completion, therefore I feel pretty solid I will get it completed on time. My wife is not really the one to procrastinate so I fear I will be done sooner than later. We will keep you posted on any progress.

We had another doctors appointment this week and it was very painless for me. I enjoy going to the appointments with Candace, however I will admit my comfort level going into this type of doctors office made me feel a little uneasy. It seems all the women look at me with an evil eye. I wish they could just lead me into the room blindfolded. I think then I might feel a little more comfortable. My friends and family have warned me that this is what happens when you have a baby and get married. I will say that I wouldn't have it any other way.

As for my beautiful wife she is going through this like a champ. I have been so proud of her during this time. She has so much going on her life right now that she is a real trooper. I have been truly blessed with a great companion. Oh yeah, one more thing I think she has really been enjoying buying a new wardrobe for this pregnancy. I feel like everyday I get home from work there is a new package on the door step. We will be extremely happy with a healthy boy or girl, but I hope for my bank account we have a boy. She has already been sending me pictures of CUTE little girl outfits. Apparently little boy outfits aren't as cute. I told all he will need is a fishing shirt and a camo outfit. We will see if that works or not.

Week 17 of Pregnancy

Your baby is practicing sucking and swallowing as he/she gets ready for the real thing: a breast or bottle! As for Mom, you may be warding off some unwanted belly touching.
Your Baby in Week 17 of Pregnancy My how your baby has grown! He/she's about the size of your palm, weighs about five ounces, and is developing some body fat (join the club, baby!). His/Her heart is now regulated by her brain (no more random beats) to beat 140 to 150 times per minute — about twice as fast as yours! What else is up? He/She’s practicing the survival skills they’ll need at birth — like sucking and swallowing.

16 weeks!!!!

16 weeks...thats crazy!

So lets see... this week, not many things have changed. I am starting to feel a little more pregnant now. My tummy is definatly making room for a baby... I can see the bump! I am no longer able to wear my regular pants... I had to switch to maternity pants... especially for work! I love eating popcorn... I could eat it everyday all day if that was possible...

So for the nursery...we have completed the walls and we got our crib! It came in early!! woo... Scotty and I put it together and it looks so cute! We dont have any bedding because we are waiting to see... should it be pink or blue??? At this point we are at a stand still... But I am trying to get Scott started on the changing/organizing system! He is going to build one that looks like something we saw at Pottery Barn, but we have just been a little busy lately! I will keep pushing him though! ;) Baby W, got his/her first present yesterday from Aunt Laura and Uncle Aaron...it is a cute pooh bear and book... all the more reason scotty needs to get this thing built, we have stuff to put on the shelves!!!!

Our next doctor's appointment is on Tuesday. There we will hear the heartbeat again and then wait another 4 weeks for our 20 week check up! Thats the big one!!! Where we can see our baby again!!! and find out the sex!!! woo hoo!!!

Your Baby in Week 16:

Your baby's eyesight (and eyelashes!) is developing rapidly, but all you might be seeing in the mirror these days is a body that looks depressingly bulky. Your baby now weighs in at a whopping three to five ounces, and he's/she's four to five inches in length. The bones that are now in place in his/her ears means he/she can probably hear your voice as you talk to your partner and pals and sing in the car. While he’s/she's getting used to your voice, the tiny muscles in his body, especially the ones in his back, are gaining strength, so he/she can straighten out a little more. And thanks to his/her developing facial muscles, your baby is capable of making a few expressive frowns and squints, even at this early stage. (Don’t worry, those frowns have nothing to do with the sound of your voice!) And his/her eyes are finally working, making small side-to-side movements and perceiving light (although the eyelids are still sealed). Peekaboo!
